As a family, we’ve been riding horses and farming for as long as we can remember. Between us, we have years of experience with agriculture, dressage and stadium jumping, and working closely with horses. Going back for generations, our family’s farming and ranching history has spanned a wide area of our nation for well over 100 years.

From the rich soils of central Indiana down to the arid, mesquite ranges of central New Mexico and to the northern forestry region of Minnesota, we have ranched, raced, roped, shown, show jumped, and raised Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds. Through this, we’ve been able to create a legacy of passionate horse owners and lovers and continue to work to spread this to future generations.

With an opportunity to use land that has a limited environmental impact, we made the bold decision to begin farming high-quality hay grown specifically to feed horses. Having dealt with the unique nutritional needs of so many horses and the often difficult challenge of finding optimal foraging products to meet the dietary needs of individual horses, we formed The Horse Hay Co. officially in 2022.

By combining our 140 years of experience making hay and our passion for both horses and farming, we’ve been able to create a business that we’re able to run skillfully, cultivating premium-quality hay. We want horse owners throughout Minnesota to be able to feed them confidently knowing they’re getting exactly what they need, conveniently delivered to their farms and homes. We don’t just make hay, we strive to perfect in every way!
